PPF was one of the first private corporations in the Czech Republic in the early 1990s to commit to supporting the arts, thus helping to save several unique projects and works of art. Today, PPF owns what is probably the largest private collection of Czech and Slovak photography.
The Group manages the collection of the globally acclaimed Czech photographer, Josef Sudek, through its subsidiary, PPF Art, and operates a gallery named after him – the Josef Sudek Studio in Prague-Újezd, which PPF helped to restore. The company also operates the Václav Špála Gallery, a renowned Prague gallery focused on contemporary art. In addition to these activities, it manages Česká pojišťovna’s art collection and is in charge of Česká pojišťovna Gallery programming. The Group has supported the Jára Cimrman Theatre in Prague’s Žižkov neighborhood for a long time and is a partner of the Summer Shakespeare Festival.
PPF Art also contributes to the development and popularization of art through cooperation with other galleries and the loaning of works of art to both domestic and international exhibits.
