Change in the CFO position at Telefónica Czech Republic

Martin Vlček, the current 1st Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors, will be appointed the director of Telefónica Czech Republic’s Finance Division with effect from 1 April. He will replace David Melcon who is returning back to Telefónica’s headquarters in Spain after a two-year tenure in the Czech Republic. Martin Vlček will lead the Finance Division temporarily and will be in charge of selecting a suitable candidate for the CFO’s position.
As PPF’s Investment Director, Martin Vlček was in charge of the Telefónica Czech Republic acquisition by PPF Group, among other projects. Prior to that, he worked as an external advisor to PPF. He worked as the Investment Manager at Penta Investments between 2002 and 2011 and later as head of the local retail chain. Martin Vlček has a wealth of experience, in particular in the field of corporate turnarounds.
