Tomáš Spurný Joins PPF Group’s Executive Management

Petr Kellner , founder and majority shareholder of PPF Group N.V., comments it: „I am very pleased that Tomáš Spurný is joining the PPF group. From the year 2002 until today, Tomáš Spurný pursued a very successful career as the Chairman of the Board and CEO of Všeobecná úverová banka. His professional experience began in 1994 with McKinsey & Company, a consulting firm, where he was employed at various positions until 1999 and focused mostly on consulting in risk management and cutting operational costs. Then he worked as CEO and Chairman of the Board of the largest non-bank issuer of payment cards, CCS Česká společnost pro platební karty, where his main role consisted of creating and implementing a strategy of the company’s growth. Before being appointed by Všeobecná úverová banka, Tomáš Spurný was member of the Board of Directors of Komerční banka for two years.

Tomáš Spurný was born in Prague in 1965. As a high school graduate, he emigrated to the USA and studied at Stern School of Business, a part of the New York University, from 1986 until 1991. He has earned his MBA in finance in 1994 at Columbia University in New York.
